About the role

The Republic Kitchen team at The Ritz‑Carlton Millenia Singapore is seeking a motivated Commis Chef to join our bustling kitchen. This full‑time, non‑management position offers the chance to develop culinary skills in a world‑class hotel environment while supporting the preparation of high‑quality dishes for our guests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, measuring and mixing according to recipe specifications.
• Cook and assemble hot and cold dishes, ensuring adherence to quality, presentation and food‑preparation checklists.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely and efficiently.
• Monitor food quality during preparation, test doneness, and adjust cooking times as needed.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in correct portions, and maintain a clean, disinfected kitchen environment.
• Check and record appliance and food temperatures, and follow all safety, security and hygiene policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of relevant kitchen or food‑service experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to work extended periods standing, bending, lifting up to 25 lb and performing repetitive motions.
