Commodities Middle Office Analyst, APAC

About the role

Citi Market Operations is looking for a Commodities Middle Office Analyst in Singapore, within the APAC Commodities Middle Office team. The team ensures accurate and timely execution of trades across commodities such as oil, precious metals, base metals, softs, power, freight and emissions, supporting desks through daily reconciliation, deal checks and problem resolution. The role focuses on the Flow Commodities desk and involves close interaction with desk heads, salespeople and traders.

Key responsibilities

• Provide analytical and administrative support to front office sales and trading on derivatives and securities transactions
• Maintain position records with the trading desk assistant and trade processing functions
• Support trade capture management, front-to-back reconciliation, operational risk identification, trade confirmations and settlement forecasts
• Use data analysis tools to recommend process improvements to senior management
• Design and analyse complex reports and recommend new products, services or platform upgrades
• Minimise bank risk, reduce errors and ensure adherence to audit and control policies
• Manage, escalate and resolve requests and issues, and help formulate policies to streamline processes
• Provide informal guidance and on-the-job training to new team members
• Assess risk, uphold compliance and ethics, and report control issues transparently

Required profile

• 6-10 years of experience in a related role
• Bachelor's degree or university degree, or equivalent experience
• Understanding of commodity products preferred
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and in a fast-paced environment
• Clear written and verbal communication, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
