Communications Associate (Corporate Communications)

About the role

The Communications Associate will support corporate communications across management, media, employee and stakeholder channels. The role blends strategy and execution, covering media relations, brand reputation, internal engagement and protocol support.

Key responsibilities

• Develop management communications such as announcements, speeches and talking points, and coordinate inputs for leader engagements.
• Research examples and prepare materials for thought‑leadership initiatives.
• Plan and deliver industry and trade communications, craft story angles, write media releases and handle media enquiries.
• Build and maintain relationships with local and regional trade media and industry partners.
• Coordinate corporate awards and sponsorships, managing opportunities, submissions and timelines.
• Produce employee engagement communications, including Townhall content, intranet updates and corporate campaign messaging.
• Support protocol for visits by political office holders and dignitaries, preparing briefs and managing corporate gifts.
• Monitor media and social channels to flag issues, draft holding statements, FAQs and other crisis response materials.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in corporate communications or an agency environment, preferably in a large or complex organization.
• Proven ability to write and edit clear messages for senior leaders, media, staff and external stakeholders.
• Experience planning and executing management communications, media relations and employee engagement initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, comfortable working with senior leaders, business units, media, government and community partners.
• Project and event management capability, handling multiple timelines and detailed coordination.
