Compliance Officer – Financial Services

About the role

Our client, a leading organisation in the financial markets, is seeking an experienced Compliance Officer to lead member supervision, regulatory compliance and corporate governance functions. This role offers the chance to broaden an audit or financial‑services background into a strategic regulatory position.

Key responsibilities

• Lead supervision of members to ensure adherence to Trading and Clearing Rules, internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Review and enhance frameworks, policies and procedures related to member supervision and compliance.
• Assess members’ financial returns, regulatory notifications and other submissions; conduct off‑site reviews and on‑site inspections as needed.
• Support the identification and management of potential compliance breaches, including disciplinary actions and follow‑up.
• Ensure compliance with the Securities and Futures Act, related regulations, regulatory submissions and internal control requirements.
• Maintain effective relationships with regulators such as the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and support regulatory engagements.
• Strengthen internal corporate governance processes and assist with Board, shareholder and Corporate Secretary matters.
• Act as Data Protection Officer and support other compliance, governance and regulatory functions.

Required profile

• Degree in Accountancy or Finance.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in audit, regulatory compliance, risk or related functions.
• Strong understanding of financial‑services regulations, internal controls and audit principles.
• Experience in member supervision, financial‑services audit or corporate governance is an advantage.
