Construction Manager – Data Center Projects

About the role

DayOne is seeking a Construction Manager to act as the client’s on‑site representative for high‑performance data centre projects in Singapore. You will oversee civil, structural and architectural (CSA) works, ensuring they meet design intent, schedule, safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Represent the client in supervising all CSA construction activities, monitoring design compliance, programme adherence, safety and quality.
• Review and monitor the main contractor’s execution of structural, architectural and external works across all project phases; attend site inspections, technical meetings and progress reviews.
• Ensure all works comply with Singapore BCA, SCDF, MOM, NEA and other local codes; approve QA/QC procedures, inspection test plans (ITPs) and method statements.
• Coordinate CSA and M&E teams, manage interface issues, and support M&E construction and commissioning phases.
• Liaise with contractors, consultants and subcontractors to resolve issues, track progress against the master schedule, and flag risks.
• Participate in change‑order assessments, cost reviews and technical clarifications.
• Review technical submittals, shop drawings, as‑built documentation and progress claims; maintain records of NCRs, RFIs and site observations; provide regular reports to project management.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of CSA experience.
• Strong understanding of CSA‑MEP interfaces.
• Experience on data‑center, mission‑critical or semiconductor plant projects is highly advantageous.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Singapore BCA, SCDF, MOM and NEA regulations.
• Proficiency with QA/QC procedures, inspection test plans (ITPs) and method statements.
• Expertise in CSA‑MEP coordination.
• Ability to review technical submittals, shop drawings and as‑built documentation.
• Familiarity with environmental health and safety (EHS) requirements and the WSH Act.
