Contract Accountant – 12 month fixed‑term

About the role

We are looking for a Contract Accountant to join our finance team on a 12‑month fixed‑term basis. The role will strengthen financial controls, enhance finance processes, and support key reporting and audit activities across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed balance‑sheet reconciliation reviews, investigate and resolve long‑outstanding items, and document outcomes.
• Review and validate accruals to ensure compliance with IFRS and internal control standards, recommending process improvements.
• Streamline and enhance local finance policies, procedures, controls, and reporting cadence for greater efficiency and transparency.
• Collaborate with the Global Business Services shared‑service centre to plan and execute finance process improvement initiatives such as standardisation and automation.
• Support year‑end group reporting and statutory audit, preparing audit schedules, reconciliations and coordinating with auditors.
• Assist with the closure and clean‑up of accounting ledgers resulting from the 2025 amalgamation, ensuring alignment with post‑amalgamation reporting requirements.
• Undertake ad‑hoc projects related to financial reporting, internal controls, or process optimisation.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of accounting/finance experience in a corporate environment or audit firm.
• Degree in Accounting/Finance and/or professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CA) preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS and hands‑on experience with balance‑sheet reconciliations, accruals, and month‑end/year‑end closing.
• Proven experience in finance process improvement and basic project management.
• Good understanding of internal controls and governance frameworks.
