About the role
Culina is seeking a dynamic Cook to join its restaurant team in Singapore. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items to high standards while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and cook menu items as directed by the Sous/Head Chef.
- Assist in menu development, incorporating food trends and new service concepts.
- Ensure prompt and efficient service with timely food preparation and delivery.
- Instruct and demonstrate cooking techniques to junior cooks.
- Compile food orders, monitor quality and control costs.
- Check stock, deliveries and record wastage in line with restaurant standards.
- Execute standard recipes, cooking techniques and presentation consistently.
- Maintain high standards of sanitation, cleanliness and safety throughout all kitchen areas.
- Ensure food storage complies with hygiene, health and safety policies.
Required profile
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar cooking role.
- Culinary school certification or diploma is a plus; practical experience also considered.
Required skills
- Proficiency in preparing a range of foods including appetizers, soups and main courses.
- Hands‑on experience in garnishing, arranging and serving dishes.
- Ability to assess freshness of ingredients before cooking.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and handling procedures.
- Competence in cleaning work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes and silverware.
