Cook – Culinary Professional for Restaurant

About the role

Culina is seeking a dynamic Cook to join its restaurant team in Singapore. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items to high standards while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and cook menu items as directed by the Sous/Head Chef.
• Assist in menu development, incorporating food trends and new service concepts.
• Ensure prompt and efficient service with timely food preparation and delivery.
• Instruct and demonstrate cooking techniques to junior cooks.
• Compile food orders, monitor quality and control costs.
• Check stock, deliveries and record wastage in line with restaurant standards.
• Execute standard recipes, cooking techniques and presentation consistently.
• Maintain high standards of sanitation, cleanliness and safety throughout all kitchen areas.
• Ensure food storage complies with hygiene, health and safety policies.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar cooking role.
• Culinary school certification or diploma is a plus; practical experience also considered.

Required skills

• Proficiency in preparing a range of foods including appetizers, soups and main courses.
• Hands‑on experience in garnishing, arranging and serving dishes.
• Ability to assess freshness of ingredients before cooking.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and handling procedures.
• Competence in cleaning work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes and silverware.
