Corporate Counsel – AWS Data Center Operations

About the role

Amazon’s Legal Department is seeking an experienced attorney to join the AWS Data Center Operations team. The Corporate Counsel will provide day‑to‑day legal advice, support projects, negotiate contracts and resolve vendor issues for the operation, physical security, maintenance and logistics of AWS data centers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide daily legal counseling to business and stakeholder teams across multiple jurisdictions.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts and vendor agreements related to data‑center operations.
• Contribute to cross‑functional projects, offering risk‑calibrated solutions and guidance.
• Synthesize legal requirements across international locations and ensure compliance.

Required profile

• 5+ years of legal experience with a Juris Doctor degree and admission to a state bar or equivalent.
• License to practice law in a common‑law jurisdiction (e.g., Europe, US).
• Background in web services, cloud computing, telecommunications, infrastructure or operations.
• Experience in a technology‑focused private practice or in‑house legal team.
• Familiarity with AI tools for legal research, contract analysis or document review.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in cross‑functional teams.
