Corporate Development Intern (Jan 2027)

About the role

Carousell Group, the leading multi-category secondhand platform in Greater Southeast Asia, is looking for a full-time Corporate Development Intern starting January 2027. The internship lasts 6 months and sits within the strategy function, supporting M&A, partnerships and investor reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Keep abreast of market trends and competitor strategies
• Help identify and analyse potential M&A and partnership opportunities, including target screening, company research and valuation
• Support due diligence, post-merger integration and partnership initiatives, coordinating information requests across teams and advisors
• Update the Group's 5-year investor-facing financial model and build scenario analyses for M&A and strategic initiatives
• Prepare monthly and quarterly investor reports and presentations, including financial statements, KPI packs and budget versus actual commentary
• Reconcile financial and operating data across management accounts, statutory accounts and KPI trackers, working with Finance and business unit teams
• Leverage AI tools to automate recurring investor reporting and speed up research and analysis
• Collaborate on ad-hoc corporate development and strategy projects for the team and senior management

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field; fresh graduates and those with one or more years of relevant experience are welcome
• Demonstrable familiarity with and/or interest in accounting, corporate finance and/or startups
• Full-time commitment for 6 months
• Experience in investor relations, audit, investment banking, corporate finance or FP&A is a plus

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentation creation
• Financial modelling, including three-statement models, with an understanding of revenue and cost drivers
• Ability to reconcile data across sources and use AI to streamline data analysis
