About the role

The Corporate Lawyer / Legal Compliance Specialist / Governance Advisor provides expert legal advice, ensures regulatory compliance, and oversees corporate governance to align business operations with legal standards. This role supports strategic initiatives, protects organisational interests, and drives continuous improvement in legal processes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel on corporate, commercial, governance, and regulatory matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, policies, and other legal documents.
• Support regulatory compliance programs, governance frameworks, and risk‑management initiatives.
• Conduct legal research, compliance assessments, and regulatory analysis.
• Collaborate with finance, HR, operations, procurement, and executive teams on legal and compliance issues.
• Monitor legal developments, regulatory updates, and governance requirements.
• Maintain legal records, contract databases, compliance documentation, and corporate filings.
• Assist with audits, investigations, dispute resolution, and litigation coordination.
• Prepare legal reports, compliance updates, and strategic recommendations for management.
• Drive process improvement, governance optimisation, and operational compliance initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law or Legal Studies.
• Qualified legal practitioner or bar admission (advantageous).
• 3–8 years of experience in corporate law, compliance, governance, or regulatory advisory roles.
• Strong understanding of contract law, corporate governance, and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple legal priorities and deadlines.
• High attention to detail, confidentiality, and professional ethics.
