Credit Control Specialist – Risk Management

About the role

DBS is hiring a Contract (fixed term) specialist for its Credit Control Unit within the Risk Management Group, based in DBS Asia Central. The role covers the documentation and monitoring of credit facilities, including follow-up with law firms on security documents.

Key responsibilities

• Perform documentation checks and ensure facility and collateral documents comply with approved terms in credit memos.
• Carry out pre-activation checks so that conditions precedent are met, collateral is in place and internal policies and guidelines are followed before activating credit facilities.
• Follow up with the law firm on security document registration and perfection.
• Maintain and update systems for activation and revision of credit facilities.
• Monitor outstanding documents, covenants, re-valuations and insurance renewals for collateral.
• Prepare escalation reports on a timely basis and process cancellations of credit facilities and redemption of mortgages.
• Assist in automation and digitalisation initiatives, supporting project teams with specification, UAT, system conversion and implementation.
• Perform administrative functions as directed by the supervisor.

Required profile

• University degree in Business, Accountancy, Banking or Finance.
• At least 3 years of working experience.
• Knowledge of banking and financial services in consumer or wealth management banking is an advantage.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, analytical and meticulous, able to prioritise and manage several tasks independently under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft applications, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
