Customer Engineer – Entry Level (iTeam)

About the role

As an entry‑level Customer Engineer you will be the primary point of contact for Applied Materials’ customers in Singapore. You will work alongside senior engineers to install, maintain and upgrade advanced semiconductor and display equipment, using digital analytics to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Senior Field Service Engineers to install, maintain and upgrade customer equipment.
• Use digital analytics and basic diagnostic techniques to assess equipment performance.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems (training provided).
• Coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations.
• Participate in projects and assignments that support organisational goals.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 0–1 year experience in customer support, field service or a related technical field.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving basic technical challenges.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum or thermodynamics.
• Familiarity with hand tools and digital multimeters.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
