Customer Engineer Manager

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials engineering solutions, is seeking a Customer Engineer Manager to lead service and warranty operations for its semiconductor and display equipment in Singapore. The role combines forecasting, start‑up management, inventory control, and team leadership to ensure high customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast financial, manpower and operational requirements for start‑up, warranty and service agreements.
• Identify and pursue service agreement business in collaboration with marketing and sales.
• Manage start‑up projects, controlling time and cost, and oversee local inventories and RMA procedures.
• Maintain Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) targets and manage system start‑up and warranty costs.
• Ensure customer satisfaction with service performance and system reliability.
• Interview, hire, train and develop customer engineers to support regional business.
• Escalate system downtimes following established procedures to achieve guaranteed uptime.

• Demonstrated understanding of industry concepts and how the role contributes to business objectives.
• Ability to lead a homogeneous team, adapt plans to service challenges and drive continuous improvement.
• Strong problem‑solving skills to resolve technical, operational and organizational issues.
