Deputy Constituency Director – Changi Simei

About the role

The Deputy Constituency Director (DCD) works alongside the Constituency Director to act as the master planner for the Changi Simei constituency. The role focuses on strategising, planning, coordinating and delivering community initiatives that build social capital and promote national unity.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate and review strategic plans for Grassroots Organisations (GROs) to create a livable, harmonious neighbourhood.
• Identify resident needs, supervise the design and implementation of community programmes, and strengthen resident engagement.
• Lead the annual constituency workplan, aligning GROs and community partners with national objectives.
• Guide and motivate Grassroots Leaders and GROs in community‑building activities and partnership development.
• Facilitate monthly Citizens’ Consultative Committee and Community Centre/Club Management Committee meetings.
• Provide administrative support, oversee office operations, and ensure proper accounting and cash management in line with PA financial rules.
• Submit progress reports, offer feedback on workplans, and recommend improvements.
• Assist in communication with residents, gather ground sentiments, and explain government policies.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of community development and grassroots organisation dynamics.
• Ability to plan strategically, coordinate multiple stakeholders, and drive implementation.
• Excellent communication skills for resident engagement and policy explanation.
• Leadership capability to mentor and guide grassroots leaders.
