Deputy/Assistant Road System Safety Manager

About the role

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) is recruiting a Deputy/Assistant Road System Safety Manager. This is a dynamic, multi-faceted role covering technical, analytical and outreach work, aimed at strengthening road safety governance and raising safety standards across Singapore's transport system.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct safety audits and inspections across road, cycling path and bus interchange projects, identifying hazards before they become risks
• Provide technical advice to project teams and consultants to help shape safer infrastructure
• Research international best practices and improve road design standards to strengthen LTA's safety governance framework
• Develop training courses, guidebooks and safety articles to build capability across the industry
• Explore and apply AI-assisted tools and emerging technologies to improve safety governance workflows

Required profile

• Knowledge of Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Traffic Engineering or a related discipline
• Familiarity with local and international road design standards
• Preferred: practical experience in road design, traffic management and road safety engineering
• Preferred: hands-on experience with AI tools such as data analysis, computer vision or workflow automation
• Valid Class 3 driving licence is an advantage; candidates without working experience are also welcome to apply
• Shortlisting may require a medical declaration and/or further assessment

Required skills

• Strong written and spoken communication and teamwork skills
• Initiative, leadership potential and strong analytical and observational abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD, BIM or traffic modelling software is an advantage
