Design & Capital Projects Engineer Trainee (Attach & Train Program)

About the role

Roche is recruiting a Design & Capital Projects Engineer Trainee for its research, development and manufacturing site in Singapore, under an Attach & Train programme. The trainee leads projects from design through to commissioning of new equipment or modifications to existing assets, and supports global engineering teams and other Roche legal entities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead projects through design, procurement, installation and commissioning of new equipment or modifications to meet operational and reliability needs.
• Plan, schedule and execute capital projects with internal resources and external contractors within timelines and budgets.
• Ensure equipment and piping designs comply with industrial standards, master specifications, statutory requirements, SHE standards, cGMP and other requirements.
• Create, review and approve cGMP documents such as SOPs and engineering drawings, and maintain project documentation.
• Support global engineering teams on large capital projects (over 10M CHF) and provide engineering and project management support to other Roche legal entities in Singapore.
• Partner with manufacturing, maintenance, utility, reliability and network teams to build their competencies and support asset lifecycle management.
• Assist the Section Head with the site capital plan and capital budget monitoring, and support technology transfer, equipment qualification, root cause analysis, risk and impact assessments and CAPA implementation.
• Comply with site SHE requirements, security measures and the PT Lean Production System, and act as delegate to the Head of Engineering when required.

Required profile

• BA/BS or higher in a scientific or engineering discipline.
• At least 2 years of working experience.
• Goal-oriented, adaptable and willing to take accountability for assignments.
• Strong aptitude for acquiring and applying engineering knowledge and project management skills, and effective communication with project teams and stakeholders.
