DevOps Engineer (AWS, Kubernetes, AI-Assisted Engineering)

About the role

Hytech, a management consulting firm with offices in Australia and Singapore and more than 2,000 professionals worldwide, is looking for a DevOps Engineer in Singapore. The role builds and maintains the AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes platform and software delivery pipelines, working closely with engineering teams to improve delivery speed, reliability and efficiency for high-performance financial systems. AI-assisted engineering is central to the job.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain AWS infrastructure (VPC, EKS, EC2, load balancing, storage, IAM) and manage it as code with Terraform.
• Operate Kubernetes clusters, maintain Helm charts, and configure autoscaling and resource management.
• Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows with tools such as Argo CD.
• Implement monitoring, logging, tracing and alerts; take part in incident response, root cause analysis and runbook maintenance.
• Strengthen security through least privilege, network isolation, secrets management, vulnerability scanning and patching.
• Collaborate with developers on deployment, capacity, performance and environment issues.
• Use AI coding assistants and agent tools to speed up development, pipeline optimization and troubleshooting, and automate recurring tasks.
• Validate AI-generated code and configurations, measure improvements and share best practices.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of experience in DevOps, SRE or cloud infrastructure, including hands-on production operations.
• Regular use of AI coding assistants or agent tools in engineering workflows, with concrete examples of efficiency gains.
• Sound judgment when reviewing AI output and handling production access and sensitive information.
• Strong communication, documentation and problem-solving skills.

Required skills

• AWS services and troubleshooting of networking, compute, storage and access control.
• Linux, TCP/IP, DNS, TLS and load balancing.
• Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI or GitHub Actions).
• Observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana or OpenTelemetry.
• Automation with Python, Go or Shell.
• Nice to have: Argo CD, Kafka, Redis/Valkey, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse.NET, SLI/SLO, capacity planning, cloud security incident response and compliance audits.
