DevOps SRE Engineer – Automation & Reliability

About the role

The DevOps SRE Engineer will drive reliability, efficiency and scalability of critical infrastructure and applications through automation and infrastructure‑as‑code. You will champion a culture of continuous improvement, build robust SRE tools and enhance CI/CD pipelines while supporting messaging platforms such as Kafka and MQ.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement advanced SRE tooling and automation solutions using Python or Java.
• Drive adoption and improvement of CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins and GitLab CI.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and optimise system performance, performing root‑cause analysis and preventive automation.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to define Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and ensure disaster‑recovery readiness.
• Provide secondary support for Kafka and MQ, including administration, configuration and performance tuning.
• Conduct architectural reviews, remediate network vulnerabilities and guide teams on security and compliance best practices.

Required profile

• 3–6 years of progressive experience in DevOps, SRE or technical infrastructure, preferably in a banking environment.
• Strong knowledge of SRE principles, error budgets, monitoring, alerting and incident management.
• Hands‑on experience with Linux administration and agile project management tools such as Jira.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and familiarity with ITIL processes.
