Digital Design Lead - Optical Control ICs

About the role

Analog Devices is looking for an experienced Digital Design Lead in Singapore to lead digital IC development for Optical Control ICs used in AI datacenter and cloud infrastructure applications. The role covers both technical leadership and team and project execution, guiding a team of digital designers through complex mixed-signal SoCs for high-speed optical interconnects, from architecture through tape-out.

Key responsibilities

• Define block-level and chip-level digital architecture, RTL design and implementation for optical controller SoCs, and drive architecture and micro-architecture decisions balancing performance, power, area and schedule.
• Review and approve critical RTL designs, verification strategies and design documentation, and act as the technical escalation point for complex design, integration and silicon bring-up issues.
• Own end-to-end digital design execution and define project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies and risk mitigation strategies.
• Work closely with system, analog/mixed-signal, verification, firmware and test teams, and proactively resolve cross-functional issues affecting quality, schedule or product goals.
• Lead, mentor and grow the digital design team, provide technical direction and career guidance, run regular design and project reviews and foster a culture of technical excellence, ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Microelectronics, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in digital IC / SoC design, with ownership of complex IPs or full-chip designs.
• Proven experience leading projects and/or managing engineers.
• Experience or awareness of AI-assisted design tools is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong hands-on expertise in RTL design, digital architecture and mixed-signal SoC integration.
• Understanding of block-level and system-level verification methodologies and flows.
• Familiarity with EDA flows (synthesis, STA, verification) and scripting languages such as Python, Tcl or Perl.
• Excellent communication skills and comfort in a fast-paced AI datacenter product environment.
