Digital Solution Architect - Energy Industries

About the role

ABB Energy Industries is looking for a Digital Solution Architect in Singapore, reporting to the Technical Solutions Director. The role leads end-to-end digital transformation solutions across power generation, oil & gas, LNG, chemicals, life sciences, water and infrastructure, bridging OT, IT, ET and enterprise systems to turn customer business objectives into secure, scalable digital architectures. The work model is hybrid.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of integrated digital and automation solutions by working with sales, engineering, service, cybersecurity and partner teams to build technical and commercial proposals.
• Design scalable, reusable digital solutions for process industries and develop digital transformation roadmaps with phased implementation strategies.
• Build business cases and ROI models linking digital initiatives to asset performance, reliability, energy optimization, safety and productivity.
• Serve as digital technical lead for strategic pursuits and key accounts, engaging executives, IT/OT leaders, EPCs, consultants and plant management.
• Define industrial data and integration architectures using OPC UA, MQTT, APIs, edge computing, industrial historians, cloud platforms and enterprise systems.
• Embed cybersecurity, resilience and governance, covering network segmentation, access management, secure connectivity, backup and recovery and compliance.
• Support project execution, testing, commissioning, user adoption and the creation of repeatable solution templates and best practices.
• Lead technical tendering, scope definition, compliance reviews, estimation and risk assessments.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science/IT or a related discipline.
• Around 8 to 10 years of experience in industrial automation, digitalization, industrial software, OT, technology consulting or digital transformation, including at least 5 years in solution architecture, technical leadership or consulting.
• Proven commercial and project experience with EPC projects, brownfield modernization, greenfield developments, lifecycle services, software subscriptions and partner ecosystems.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and executive communication skills, able to lead cross-functional, geographically dispersed teams without direct authority.
