Director / Assistant Director, Procurement

About the role

The organization is seeking a senior procurement leader to shape and execute its yearly procurement strategy, drive cost efficiencies, and embed sustainability across the supply base. This role will oversee both strategic and operational procurement activities while mentoring a high‑performing team.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and monitor annual procurement strategies aligned with overall business goals.
• Lead initiatives that leverage emerging technologies, including AI, to enhance procurement performance.
• Manage category teams to achieve significant cost reductions and added value.
• Oversee supplier selection, negotiations, and performance management.
• Ensure procurement processes comply with Sustainable Procurement policies.
• Guide teams toward achieving revenue, risk, reputation and cost objectives.
• Coordinate end‑to‑end procurement activities for internal and external stakeholders.
• Act as the primary point of contact for procurement policies, training and queries.
• Develop talent in functional and leadership capabilities to build a high‑performance team.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of sustainable procurement experience with a proven track record.
• 3–5 years of direct team management experience.
• Demonstrated ability to formulate procurement transformation and innovation strategies.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of urgency and accountability.
• Analytical, detail‑oriented and capable of high‑level strategic thinking.
• Strong business acumen in a matrixed organization.
• Degree in a technical discipline (e.g., Engineering, IT, Supply Chain) preferred; professional certifications are a plus.
