Director, Core Banking Platform Lead

About the role

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is looking for a Director, Core Banking Platform Lead (Engineering Lead) for its Information Technology Department under the Systems Office for Asia. The role drives the bank's Core Banking technology initiatives and refines IT project delivery practices, working with IT and business stakeholders. It sits within a growing regional team delivering digital transformation solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Core Banking (Temenos T24 Transact) programme and initiatives in the Asia Systems Office, planning and overseeing T24 developments and system requirements.
• Gather and assess business requirements and turn them into technical design documents, recommending system alternatives or enhancements.
• Provide application solutioning advice during implementation and incident investigations, and manage open issues through root cause analysis, workarounds and permanent fixes.
• Draft project plans, manage timelines and review T24 build quality, testing, performance, stability, interfaces and exception handling, driving improvement plans.
• Ensure bank policies and procedures are followed, and present to stakeholders on process and system opportunities and constraints.
• Manage senior stakeholders, including external vendors, and chair technical issue management meetings.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in software development, application support or regional platform transformation (e.g. payment hub).
• Proven Core Banking experience with T24 technical and functional development, or equivalent in a Tier 1 transaction platform such as eBanking channels.
• Full project life cycle experience with SDLC methodologies and Agile, and strong stakeholder management.
• Team management of large, distributed teams, including offshore build and test centres.
• Subject matter expert with deep problem-solving, RCA and systemic thinking.
