Director of Finance

About the role

Join the opening leadership team of Avani Singapore as the Director of Finance. You will shape the financial foundation of one of Singapore's most exciting new lifestyle hospitality destinations, working closely with ownership and senior management from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all finance pre‑opening activities, including financial set‑up, procurement governance, OS&E management, systems implementation, budgeting, controls, reporting, licensing support, banking relationships and overall financial readiness.
• Partner with the General Manager and leadership team to support commercial decision‑making and drive business growth.
• Collaborate with JV partners, consultants, contractors, banks, auditors, local authorities and other external stakeholders to ensure a smooth pre‑opening programme.
• Develop and execute the hotel’s financial strategy, planning, forecasting and performance management.
• Oversee financial reporting, cash‑flow management, audits, statutory compliance and tax requirements.
• Establish strong internal controls, governance frameworks and risk‑management practices.
• Manage capital‑expenditure reviews, procurement controls and investment analysis.
• Recruit, develop and lead a high‑performing finance team.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field with a professional accounting qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of senior finance leadership experience in hospitality, currently in a Financial Controller or Chief Accountant role.
• Proven track record of driving hotel financial performance and delivering results.
• Strong knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, taxation, budgeting and internal controls.
