Director of Finance

About the role

The hotel is seeking a newly created Director of Finance to provide strategic financial leadership and act as a key business partner to the General Manager and Leadership Team. This senior role safeguards the hotel’s financial interests, drives profitability and ensures robust financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the General Manager on financial performance, business strategy and operational decisions.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and business planning, aligning assumptions with objectives.
• Monitor revenue, payroll, operating expenses, GOP and other key indicators, identifying opportunities to improve profitability.
• Analyse monthly performance against budget and prior year, presenting variances, risks and recommendations.
• Oversee accounting functions including General Ledger, AP, AR, cash management and payroll controls.
• Maintain cash‑flow management, bank reconciliations and ensure timely deposits.
• Establish and maintain internal controls, policies and procedures to protect assets.
• Ensure compliance with tax, statutory, licensing and financial regulations.
• Lead internal and external audits and resolve findings promptly.
• Review contracts, commercial proposals and advise on financial implications.
• Oversee CAPEX planning, business cases and ROI analysis.
• Collaborate with operational departments to improve cost control while maintaining guest experience.

Required profile

• Degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CA) is advantageous.
• Significant finance leadership experience, preferably in hotel or hospitality.
• Strong understanding of hotel financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, P&L management and cash flow.
• Commercial and analytical capability to translate data into business recommendations.
• Experience working with owners, General Managers and senior leadership teams.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• High integrity, attention to detail and accountability.
