Director, Strategic Procurement for Equipment (Semiconductor)

About the role

We are seeking a Director of Strategic Procurement for Equipment within the semiconductor sector to lead global sourcing strategy across a high‑value spend portfolio, drive supplier innovation, cost optimisation and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement long‑term category strategies aligned with business and technology roadmaps.
• Lead a team of procurement and category management professionals, driving capability development and performance excellence.
• Build and strengthen strategic supplier partnerships to support innovation, cost reduction, quality, and supply continuity.
• Partner with executive stakeholders across operations, engineering, finance, and manufacturing to deliver procurement objectives.
• Drive annual cost improvement programmes and total cost of ownership optimisation initiatives.
• Lead supplier performance management, business reviews, and risk mitigation programmes.
• Monitor market trends, supply chain developments, and emerging technologies to identify new sourcing opportunities and competitive advantages.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or related field; MBA advantageous.
• Minimum 10 years of procurement, sourcing or category management experience in semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, capital equipment or related advanced manufacturing.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience managing procurement or category management teams.
• Proven track record of developing and executing strategic sourcing and category management programmes.
• Experience driving cost reduction, supplier development and total cost of ownership initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage complex cross‑functional projects.
• Commercial acumen with experience negotiating high‑value contracts and supplier agreements.
• Demonstrated experience managing supplier risk, performance and business continuity strategies.
