Divisional Director, Standards & Surveillance Division

About the role

The Divisional Director will lead the Financial Reporting and Standards Department and the Inspection Department, acting as the regulator of public accountants in Singapore. The role is responsible for upholding high‑quality financial reporting and promoting professional standards through key regulatory programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic advice and direction to the Standards & Surveillance Division (SSD) management and staff, and support international engagements with bodies such as IFIAR, IASB and AARG.
• Build capabilities by deepening technical and professional skillsets, strengthening leadership bench strength and developing a sustainable talent pipeline.
• Lead transformation initiatives, driving process improvements, AI adoption and data‑enabled approaches to enhance regulatory effectiveness and operational efficiency.
• Contribute to senior leadership team discussions, shaping enterprise‑level strategy beyond the division.
• Strategise and direct environmental scanning to keep the organisation abreast of developments in accounting, auditing standards and the global economic environment.
• Engage with public accountancy stakeholders, company directors, audit regulators and professional bodies to gather insights and address emerging accounting issues.
• Provide strategic direction for periodic policy and operational excellence activities.

Required profile

• Extensive accounting and auditing experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting, accounting standards and regulatory frameworks.
• Proven leadership and management capabilities, with experience leading change.
• Ability to work closely with local and international accounting stakeholders.
