Job description
About the role
Deutsche Bank's eDiscovery Services team, part of the Chief Data Office under the Technology, Data and Innovation Division, identifies, preserves, collects and securely delivers electronically stored information for litigation, regulatory matters, investigations, employment cases and other authorised requests across Microsoft 365, compliance archives, voice, structured applications, devices and file repositories. The Vice President leads eDiscovery service delivery in Singapore and across APAC, combining end-to-end matter oversight with stakeholder management, risk and control ownership, operational governance, technology enablement and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Lead complex matters as the senior contact for control functions, overseeing requests from intake and scoping through preservation, collection, quality control and secure delivery.
- Define defensible scope by advising on custodians, sources, date ranges, search criteria, proportionality, privacy, cost and timelines, and challenging unclear requirements.
- Own delivery by setting plans, priorities, dependencies and escalation routes for high-risk or time-critical matters, coordinating regional and global teams, technology partners and vendors.
- Maintain defensibility and control through validated, reproducible methods, chain-of-custody, quality evidence and audit trails, and oversee remediation of risks and data-quality issues.
- Strengthen governance and performance through service forums, accountability, policies, management information and decision records, using SLA, quality, capacity, demand, backlog and cost measures.
- Enable technology change by representing eDiscovery needs in new applications, archive migrations and platform enhancements.
- Manage technology and sensitive data across Microsoft Purview, Relativity and related platforms while meeting legal, privacy, banking-secrecy, information-security and cross-border obligations.
- Coach colleagues, promote consistent global practices and advance the operating model, automation and standardisation.
Required profile
- Degree or equivalent professional experience in technology, law, information governance, digital forensics, data management or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in eDiscovery, investigations technology, legal technology, digital forensics, information governance or enterprise data services, preferably in financial or professional services.
- Experience leading complex, sensitive or time-critical legal, regulatory and investigative matters in a highly controlled organisation.
- Credible communicator and leader able to advise senior stakeholders, influence global matrixed teams and manage competing priorities with discretion.
- Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and optimise workflows, with responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
Required skills
- Strong knowledge of the eDiscovery lifecycle: identification, preservation, collection, processing, review support, production, quality control, chain-of-custody and defensibility.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Purview eDiscovery, Relativity or comparable review platforms, compliance archives and enterprise data sources.
- Sound understanding of technology risk, data privacy, information security, records management, cross-border handling, third-party delivery and audit evidence.
- Ability to turn legal, regulatory and business needs into requirements, controls, procedures, delivery plans and technology change, supported by service-management, KPI and remediation skills.
What we offer
- Flexible benefits plan including virtual doctor consultation services.
- Comprehensive leave benefits, gender-neutral parental leave and 25 days of annual paid leave plus public holiday.
- Hybrid working arrangement.
- A culture of continuous learning to aid progression.
