Electrical Engineer – Supplier Quality

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an Electrical Engineer to manage supplier quality for electrical systems and assemblies. The role focuses on validating supplier deliverables, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring robust system integration without owning product design.

Key responsibilities

• Develop deep understanding of electrical systems including PCBA, wiring harnesses, connectors, and AC/DC power distribution.
• Own supplier quality for electrical components, evaluate technical capability, and drive supplier audits.
• Monitor supplier performance (QPPM, DMR, NC trends) and lead improvement actions.
• Investigate electrical failures such as connectivity issues, power faults, and intermittent failures.
• Validate manufacturing processes for electrical assemblies and key quality controls like inspection methods, ESD handling, and functional testing.
• Support engineering changes by assessing impact on electrical interfaces and collaborate with global teams on issue resolution.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• Strong product knowledge of semiconductor capital equipment and hands‑on experience with wiring, electrical connections, and power systems.
• Experience working with schematics, harness drawings, and system integration.
• Familiarity with supplier quality, manufacturing processes, audits, and IPC standards.
• Knowledge of ESD handling and assembly best practices.
