Engineer – Workshop Operations & Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking an Engineer to oversee workshop operations, ensuring projects are completed within target turnaround times, man‑hours and quality standards. The role involves managing equipment, coordinating multiple workshops and acting as the primary point of contact for technical investigations and incident response.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control all jobs to meet turnaround time, man‑hour and quality targets.
• Safeguard, control and maintain workshop equipment and special tools.
• Provide first‑line technical response to customer management on investigations and incidents.
• Ensure adequate manpower and coordinate work across multiple workshops.
• Conduct technical studies for modification, improvement or replacement of vehicle/equipment systems and components.
• Maintain a clean, safe and healthy working environment.
• Communicate relevant information from meetings, seminars or forums to staff and project managers.
• Identify product or service issues, initiate corrective actions and verify their implementation.
• Ensure all work complies with safety plans and take immediate action to rectify hazards.
• Report near‑misses, incidents and accidents promptly and act as Site Incident Controller when required.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of engineering experience in automotive or related maintenance industry.
• Strong project and people management capabilities.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently under tight schedules.
• Self‑driven team player.
• Valid Class 3 manual driving licence; Class 4 or 5 preferred.
