Engineering Technician – Night 12‑hour Shift

About the role

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductor and advanced display manufacturing. The Engineering Technician works the night 12‑hour shift in Singapore, performing electro‑mechanical testing, troubleshooting and assembly of equipment that supports AI‑driven chip production.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine to moderately complex electro‑mechanical tasks including design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, troubleshooting and assembly of electronics and electro‑mechanical systems.
• Test and troubleshoot system‑level and component‑level problems in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and vacuum subsystems, and execute new system installations and field upgrades.
• Compile logbooks, test procedures and quality notifications while adhering to safety standards and clean‑room protocols.
• Conduct mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum and process testing on Applied Materials platforms according to engineering and manufacturing specifications.

Required profile

• Ability to work physically demanding tasks, including standing for long periods, lifting, climbing ladders and operating heavy machinery such as forklifts.
• Familiarity with clean‑room environments and use of personal protective equipment (coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators).
• Good written communication skills for documenting test procedures and compiling logbooks.
