Entry-Level Talend Developer

About the role

NCS, an AI tech services company and subsidiary of the Singtel Group, is hiring an entry-level Talend Developer for its Applications Development team in Singapore. You will design, develop and maintain enterprise data integration solutions using the Talend platform, working on ETL processes and applying your Java and SQL knowledge. The role offers hands-on experience in data integration projects with structured mentorship and a clear career path.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test and deploy ETL workflows using Talend Open Studio or Talend Data Integration
• Build data integration solutions that extract, transform and load data from various sources
• Write custom Java components and routines, and write and optimise SQL queries
• Maintain version control of Talend jobs and components
• Perform unit testing and debugging, document technical specifications, data mappings and ETL processes
• Take part in code reviews, support UAT and production deployment, and help with data profiling
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions, support data migration projects, and contribute to project documentation and client meetings

Required profile

• Strong foundation in Java, object-oriented programming and SQL
• Basic knowledge of ETL and data integration, and familiarity with database management systems
• Preferred: hands-on Talend experience, data warehousing and dimensional modelling, Agile/Scrum, Git, Linux/Unix, Python and shell scripting
• Good analytical, communication and teamwork skills, attention to detail and willingness to learn
