Environmental Control Officer

About the role

Citadel Search is looking for a qualified Environmental Control Officer to oversee and enforce environmental compliance for large-scale infrastructure projects. The role implements and maintains environmental management standards, reduces potential environmental impacts and ensures all works meet the required regulations and approvals.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee site activities to ensure full compliance with the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and act promptly on non-compliance.
• Minimise environmental impact across all project operations.
• Support the project team in securing the necessary environmental permits and approvals.
• Assess and endorse environmental performance goals and recommend practical, sustainable solutions.
• Carry out regular site inspections and comprehensive audits, and prepare inspection checklists.
• Keep detailed records of environmental matters, incidents and corrective actions, including issuing on-the-spot penalties where applicable.
• Maintain a log of public feedback, complaints and community observations.

Required profile

• Current registration as an Environmental Control Officer (ECO) with the National Environment Agency (NEA).
• At least 2 years of hands-on construction experience in environmental compliance or a related field.
