Executive / Senior Engineer, Development & Building Control (Road)

About the role

The Land Transport Authority's Development & Building Control (Road) unit reviews development and road network proposals so they meet LTA's policies, requirements and relevant Acts. As Executive / Senior Engineer, you will help shape how developments connect to Singapore's road network, working with technical experts, developers and Qualified Persons (QPs) from planning and design through to construction. The role also offers chances to improve regulatory processes using AI and digital solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate development proposals, road and parking designs and street works plans for compliance with LTA requirements, assess non-compliances, recommend corrective actions and ensure completed street works meet standards before LTA takes over maintenance.
• Work with LTA divisions, developers, consultants, QPs and the public to resolve technical issues and clarify requirements.
• Explore AI-enabled tools and digital solutions to streamline technical reviews and improve productivity.
• Review and reimagine policies, guidelines and processes to keep pace with industry developments and reduce unnecessary regulatory burden.

Required profile

• Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Sound understanding of engineering principles, road design standards, construction methods and quality assurance.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, writing and communication skills.
• Ability to engage stakeholders, exercise sound judgement and drive issues to resolution.
• Interest in AI, digital innovation and continuous improvement.
• Advantage: 3-5 years of experience in road design, traffic engineering, construction or infrastructure development; stakeholder management or public engagement experience is a plus.
• Those with strong engineering fundamentals, a willingness to learn and no prior experience are also welcome.
