External Audit Manager – Financial Services Assurance

About the role

EY is seeking a driven External Audit Manager to lead assurance engagements for financial services clients. You will shape audit strategy, manage high‑performing teams and build lasting client relationships in a dynamic, technology‑enabled environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute audit strategy in line with EY policies, personally performing complex audit procedures when needed.
• Lead and coordinate audit teams across engagements, ensuring efficient and profitable project delivery.
• Monitor team progress against plans, adjusting resources and timelines as required.
• Understand clients’ industries, performance drivers and emerging trends to provide insightful assurance.
• Develop and maintain long‑term client relationships and identify business development opportunities.
• Coach and develop team members, delivering performance feedback and on‑the‑job training.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• 5–9 years of external audit experience, preferably within insurance, banking or asset‑management firms.
• Strong knowledge of current market issues and regulatory environment in Singapore’s financial services sector.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple engagements and drive business development.
• Highly motivated with excellent problem‑solving skills and the capacity to prioritize shifting workloads.
