Facilities Engineer

About the role

The Facilities Engineer is responsible for overseeing all utilities hook‑up activities within a high‑tech manufacturing environment. You will coordinate with vendors, internal teams and service providers to ensure safe, reliable and cost‑effective implementation of mechanical, electrical and chemical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of utilities hook‑up tasks, including review of schematic drawings and specified parameters.
• Lead daily toolbox meetings with vendors and monitor the Permit‑to‑Work system.
• Supervise contracts and service providers for M&E, UPW, gas, chemical, exhaust and industrial waste/drainage systems.
• Collaborate with IE, Process, EHS and facilities operations teams to align hook‑up activities.
• Develop and implement hook‑up programs aimed at improving safety, quality and cost.
• Identify process improvements and leverage information systems for greater efficiency.
• Maintain a safe, reliable work environment for contractors and internal staff.
• Review and ensure compliance with Hook‑Up Standard Operating Procedures.
• Utilize databases to coordinate and track work progress.
• Research industry trends, share best practices, and support disaster management and business recovery.
• Perform any other ad‑hoc duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience supporting semiconductor, solar or similar manufacturing facilities.
• Technical training or professional experience in plant engineering or maintenance.
• Ability to handle hazardous chemical materials safely.
• Self‑directed, motivated and capable of balancing tactical and strategic priorities.
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
