Failure Analysis and Reliability Engineer

About the role

The Failure Analysis and Reliability Engineer will support both failure analysis (FA) and reliability testing activities for semiconductor and photonic products. You will work with cross‑functional teams to diagnose issues, develop new analysis techniques, and ensure equipment readiness for new tool ramp‑ups.

Key responsibilities

• Perform FA and reliability analyses requested by stakeholders, generate final reports, and advise problem‑solving teams on appropriate techniques.
• Provide machine readiness, buy‑off new tools, and develop recipes to improve detection capability and productivity.
• Drive improvement initiatives such as robustness, cycle‑time reduction, and cost‑saving activities.
• Conduct staff training on FA and reliability procedures, maintain lab safety and 5S standards, and support internal/external audits.
• Assist finance and sales teams in generating service quotations and work with IT to set up request and reporting systems.

Required profile

• Degree in Material, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of FA and reliability test experience in the semiconductor/photonic industry.
• Strong knowledge of reliability environmental stress tests (HTHH, TC, UV, LT) and FA techniques.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and team‑oriented problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Cross‑section analysis, ion‑mill, CSAM, EDX, FTIR, FIB.
• Bend, abrasion and adhesion testing.
• HTHH, thermal cycling, UV and low‑temperature reliability testing.
• Material physics knowledge for correlating FA and reliability results.
