F&B Assistant

About the role

JurongHealth Campus, comprising Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and Jurong Community Hospital within the National University Health System, is looking for an F&B Assistant. The role covers patient meal orders, food safety checks and coordination of catering orders in a hospital setting.

Key responsibilities

• Generate patient meal orders and meal summaries, and coordinate and generate all catering orders.
• Handle enquiries and complaints on patient meals.
• Monitor and record control points such as reheating of food trolleys and chiller and freezer temperatures, and report deviations for immediate corrective action.
• Cross-check assembled meals and meal order chits before loading them into food trolleys (Checker function).
• Ensure strict adherence to food hygiene, critical control points, Halal standards and workplace safety, and report issues to the supervisor.
• Report repair and maintenance needs to the One Response Centre (ORC).
• Keep the work area clean after each dishing or assembly session and follow the supervisor's instructions.

Required profile

• 5-7 years of related experience at a supervisory level, preferably in a hospital, upscale hotel, restaurant or high-volume food service facility.
• Basic Food Hygiene certification.
• Ability to work in a cold room environment between 4 and 18 degrees Celsius; physically fit and strong.
• Minimum GCE 'N' Level, 'O' Level or Nitec diploma is an added advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in spoken English; fluency in a second language is an advantage.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of an electronic meal ordering system is an added advantage.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
