Finance Officer - Trade Finance (L/C, Collections)

About the role

A full-time Finance Officer position based in the Central Region of Singapore, focused on trade finance documents such as letters of credit and collection bills, bank reconciliations and accounting entries.

Key responsibilities

• Process letters of credit and collection bills with banks for negotiation and presentation
• Follow up on accepted or presented bills regarding acceptance, discrepancies, payments and disputes
• Liaise with banks on rates for L/C confirmations and discounting
• Perform month-end bank reconciliations, including loans and notes receivable if required
• Enter accounting data into the in-house SAP system and process daily outgoing remittances
• Handle import bill processing and settlements, and attend to queries from banks and trading departments
• Handle daily incoming mail and assist the finance team with ad-hoc tasks

Required profile

• Diploma in Accounting and/or Banking & Finance, or GCE O'Level with relevant experience
• At least 1 year of experience handling export L/C documentation
• Advantageous: experience with import/export L/C, collection bills and banker's guarantees, and knowledge of UCP and ISBP
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
