Financial Controller – Family Office

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and highly discreet Financial Controller to lead finance and accounting for a privately‑held family investment office. The role is hands‑on and covers financial reporting, multi‑entity consolidation, investment accounting, treasury management, tax compliance and internal controls across a portfolio of companies, trusts and investment vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and consolidated management reports for multiple entities.
• Manage group consolidation activities, including intercompany reconciliations, adjustments, eliminations and variance analysis.
• Maintain complete accounting records in Xero, covering journals, accruals, pre‑payments, AP/AR, fixed assets and bank, credit‑card, investment and FX reconciliations.
• Record and reconcile investment activity across listed securities, funds, private equity, venture capital, real estate and cash instruments.
• Produce portfolio and management reporting on performance, asset allocation, net worth, liquidity and FX exposure.
• Monitor cash positions, funding requirements and liquidity, and prepare cash‑flow forecasts.
• Handle foreign‑exchange accounting, exposure monitoring, revaluation schedules and reporting of gains/losses.
• Coordinate intercompany funding, payment approvals and treasury arrangements.
• Lead the annual audit process and coordinate tax, GST, statutory filings and regulatory reporting with external advisors.
• Maintain tax records, provisions, deferred tax positions and support tax and structuring considerations for new investments.

Required profile

• Significant experience in financial control within a multi‑entity or family office environment.
• Strong technical accounting capabilities and excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to translate complex financial and investment information into clear, decision‑useful reports.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as ACRA, IRAS and MAS.
