Financial Controller

About the role

A well-established, highly profitable consumer-sector company headquartered in Singapore is looking for a Financial Controller to join its head office during its digital and data transformation. Reporting to the Group CFO, you will lead the accounting team and manage the financial controllership function.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the accounting team and oversee financial control activities to keep financial information accurate and timely.
• Prepare and review financial reports to support management decisions.
• Oversee group consolidation and monthly intercompany and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Develop business processes for sound financial management, resource allocation and decision making.
• Analyse financial performance and liaise with regional teams and management on reporting, analysis and ad hoc projects.
• Review corporate tax, GST and withholding tax prepared by the team.
• Maintain strong financial records and documentation, and liaise with external auditors, corporate secretaries, bankers and tax agents as needed.
• Implement and review financial policies and improve reporting processes for consistency and efficiency.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting or equivalent; CA / CPA / ACCA qualification preferred.
• At least 8 years of experience, ideally with initial Big Four audit experience.
• Strong accounting and financial controllership experience in the consumer sector.
• Experience managing an accounting team and driving the controllership function is essential.
• Well versed in current accounting standards and regulations.
• Strong communication and presentation skills for engaging with senior business leaders.
