Fleet Efficiency Engineer

About the role

Join the technical and sustainability team of a leading international maritime company as a Fleet Efficiency Engineer. You will work closely with technical, commercial and operational stakeholders to analyse vessel performance data, identify fuel‑saving opportunities and support decarbonisation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor fleet performance, fuel consumption and emissions data, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Analyse vessel performance trends to uncover opportunities for fuel efficiency and environmental improvement.
• Support the implementation and monitoring of energy‑efficiency and decarbonisation projects across the fleet.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of performance‑improvement measures and recommend further optimisation.
• Collaborate with technical, commercial and operations teams on bunker‑saving and performance programmes.
• Track key technical areas such as hull and propeller condition, engine performance and energy‑conservation measures.
• Prepare dashboards, reports and performance insights for management decision‑making.
• Engage internal and external stakeholders to communicate and deliver performance initiatives.
• Provide operational support for safe, efficient and commercially focused voyage execution.
• Participate in broader sustainability, performance and business‑improvement projects as needed.

Required profile

• Marine Engineer Class 1 or Class 2 Certificate of Competency (highly regarded).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in vessel performance, energy efficiency, emissions monitoring or a related marine technical function.
• Strong understanding of fuel efficiency, vessel performance management and shipping decarbonisation initiatives.
• Excellent analytical and reporting capabilities.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical, commercial and operational teams.
