Freelance YouTube Video Editor (Remote)

About the role

Mobbin is seeking a freelance YouTube Video Editor to transform raw footage, screen recordings and scripts into engaging, high-quality videos for its YouTube channel and the founder’s personal channel. The role is fully remote and contract‑based.

Key responsibilities

• Edit long‑form YouTube videos, including talking‑head pieces, UI/UX teardowns, product deep‑dives and educational content.
• Control pacing and storytelling, trimming excess to improve watch time and rhythm.
• Handle sound design and mixing: clean dialogue, appropriate music and subtle sound effects.
• Apply visual polish: color correction, captions/subtitles, on‑screen text and callouts for UI clarity.
• Deliver edits on a predictable schedule, incorporate feedback quickly and keep project files organized.

Required profile

• Proven portfolio or channel demonstrating strong storytelling, pacing and visual clarity.
• Good aesthetic sense for design‑focused content and ability to identify key moments in UI recordings.
• Understanding of YouTube format, retention curves, hooks and the importance of the first 30 seconds.
• Self‑directed, reliable and able to manage a part‑time contractor schedule.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve or equivalent video‑editing software.
• Basic motion‑graphics ability in After Effects (optional but a plus).
