Full Stack Engineer – Backend Focus (Contract)

About the role

Our client in the IT sector is looking for a Full Stack Engineer with a strong backend focus to join a dynamic team in Singapore. The role is a 1‑year renewable contract, working Monday‑Friday on‑site, and involves building scalable cloud‑based services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services for a digital platform.
• Build and optimise RESTful APIs, business logic and workflow‑driven applications.
• Design relational databases, ensure performance, data integrity and write efficient SQL queries.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver secure, reliable software solutions.
• Support deployment pipelines, CI/CD, database migrations and cloud environments.
• Implement secure coding practices and address security findings.
• Conduct unit, API and integration testing to maintain quality.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript and either Express.js or NestJS.
• Solid experience with PostgreSQL, SQL and relational database design.
• Familiarity with authentication/authorisation concepts such as OAuth2, JWT and RBAC.
• Exposure to AWS services, Docker and Git‑based version control.
