Fullstack Backend Developer (Java Spring Boot & React)

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Full Stack Software Engineer to shape the technical direction of user journeys within Wealth Management. You will develop and maintain modern financial applications for internal users and clients, leveraging Java Spring Boot on the backend and React on the frontend.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full‑stack applications using Java Spring Boot and React.
• Build and optimise RESTful APIs and microservices, including message‑queue integration.
• Implement and maintain Micro Frontend (MFE) architectures such as Module Federation and Single‑SPA.
• Drive best‑practice adoption across the entire technology stack.
• Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, stakeholders, and other tech teams to deliver high‑quality products.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues spanning both frontend and backend.
• Lead technical innovation and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Participate in system design discussions and contribute to the technical roadmap.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in Java (Java 21) and expert‑level knowledge of Spring Boot (MVC, Data, Security, Cloud).
• Deep understanding of microservices/modulith patterns, relational databases (MariaDB, PostgreSQL) and SQL optimisation.
• Extensive experience with RESTful API design, message queues (Kafka, IBM MQ) and automated testing (JUnit, Mockito, Karate).
• Expert‑level TypeScript and React 19 skills, including hooks, context, and component lifecycle.
• Proficiency with Redux, Redux Toolkit, RTK Query, and modern web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, Flexbox, Grid, Styled Components, Emotion).
• Hands‑on experience with build tools (Webpack, Vite), testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, Playwright) and performance optimisation techniques.
