Fundamental Research Group Associate, Singapore

About the role

The Fundamental Research Group (FRG) partners with investors to deepen and improve the quality of investment research. The FRG Associate role calls for a strong foundation in financial analysis, research and emerging technologies, working independently on assigned projects with accuracy, clarity and timeliness. The associate provides timely, well-structured information to investment professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Apply financial modeling, valuation and analysis across business scenarios and integrate industry context into research.
• Communicate concise, structured findings framed in risk/reward and investment impact, and deliver clear, fact-based investment write-ups.
• Gather and synthesize data from multiple sources, identify industry and macro trends and flag inflection points.
• Deliver high-quality work quickly and accurately, prioritizing across competing demands and anticipating stakeholder needs.
• Collaborate with partner teams such as QRA, CSR and technology teams, and share ownership of research priorities.
• Develop data skills such as using AI and LLMs, automating workflows, building Python and SQL, and visualizing results with Power BI or Tableau.

Required profile

• 2-5 years of relevant research experience in financial services.
• Fluency in written and spoken Chinese.
• Strong analytical skills and intellectual curiosity about financial markets, industries and emerging trends.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Financial statements, accounting principles, valuation techniques and macroeconomic concepts.
• Excel and traditional investment research tools.
• Market data services such as AlphaSense, CapIQ and FactSet.
• Effective written and oral communication with diverse audiences.
