Hardware Engineering Technician (Shift)

About the role

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductor and advanced display manufacturing. The Hardware Engineering Technician supports the operation and maintenance of critical equipment, ensuring preventive and remedial maintenance are performed on schedule. This role works closely with tool owners and senior engineers to troubleshoot process variations and improve equipment uptime.

Key responsibilities

• Assist tool owners in planning daily work schedules to complete preventive and remedial maintenance.
• Perform periodic maintenance (daily to annual) and wet cleans on semiconductor systems.
• Troubleshoot and correct process variations, often with guidance from senior engineers.
• Provide technical assistance to less‑experienced personnel and support start‑up, retrofit, and CIP activities.
• Track equipment performance, develop productivity plans, and execute uptime improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• ITE/Diploma in Engineering or a related field.
• Basic understanding of semiconductor processes and equipment (preferred).
• Willingness to work rotating shift patterns and future 12‑hour shifts.
• Location: Science Park II, Singapore (moving to Tampines from April 2027).
