Head of Accounting

About the role

Citadel Search is looking for an experienced Head of Accounting to oversee the accounting matters of all Singapore entities within a highly matrixed multinational organisation. The role leads a Singapore accounting team, ensures compliance with statutory and Group reporting requirements, improves operational processes and coaches the team toward higher performance. Proven experience leading a team in a manufacturing or Oil & Gas organisation is most ideal.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial reports for management and stakeholders and oversee subsidiary accounts in line with statutory and Group standards.
• Lead and coach a team of accountants to improve processes and raise team performance.
• Improve accounting processes so they meet Group and internal control guidelines.
• Provide technical financial expertise to support strategic initiatives and partner with the Finance department on its goals.
• Work with the tax team on tax filings, including GST.
• Prepare for and facilitate audits, and maintain relationships with local and regional external stakeholders such as auditors and compliance authorities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA or IFRS certification required.
• At least 10 years of professional accounting experience.
• Proven leadership ability to drive and manage an accounting team.
• Experience in complex, matrixed organisations, ideally in manufacturing or Oil & Gas.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and tax regulations.
• Ability to use technology to drive transformation projects such as automation, AI and RPA.
• Strong cross-functional communication skills.
