Head of Corporate Functions Technology

About the role

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is seeking a Head of Corporate Functions Technology to join its regional technology team in the applications development and support department, reporting to the Head of Department (Information Technology). The role oversees the corporate functions systems supporting HR, Compliance, Risk, Finance, Procurement and Regulatory reporting for APAC, covering a mix of in-house and third-party solutions deployed on-premises or in the cloud.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with business stakeholders and other technology department heads to align the corporate functions roadmap with business priorities and technology strategy.
• Work with vendors, business units and regulators to adapt regulatory landscape changes across APAC into scalable regional solutions.
• Collaborate with enterprise architecture and data teams to consolidate existing solutions into a common data model for regulatory reporting.
• Coordinate with technology teams in other regions to implement compliant solutions.
• Manage technology risks and vulnerabilities, and lead incident response to restore services within SLAs.
• Ensure interfaces between internal and external systems work without disruption.
• Build a distributed regional team with the functional and technical expertise needed to support the applications.

Required profile

• Minimum 18 years of experience in corporate bank technology (applications domain), including implementing standard regulatory reporting solutions in APAC.
• Proven experience structuring a common regional database from the data elements underlying regulatory reporting.
• Experience working with business stakeholders and solution providers to deliver regional solutions with minimal customization.
• Ability to program-manage a diverse applications portfolio and lead teams working onsite and offshore.
• Experience in SDLC and exposure to Agile methodology.
