High School Physics & Coordinated Science Teacher

About the role

UWCSEA is seeking a dedicated educator to teach IB Diploma Physics and Grade 9/10 Coordinated Science at its East Campus starting August 2027. The role includes delivering curriculum in well‑equipped laboratories, mentoring students aged 14‑18, and collaborating within a high‑school grade‑level team.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute positively to the collaborative culture of the Science and broader High School teams.
• Design learning experiences that challenge students, support diverse learners, and emphasize concept‑based teaching.
• Ensure assessments promote ongoing learning and provide timely, relevant feedback on both formative and summative work.
• Maintain effective classroom management that addresses academic, social, and emotional dimensions of learning.
• Communicate proactively with parents, keeping them informed about their children’s progress.

Required profile

• A good degree and a recognized teaching qualification or certification.
• Enthusiastic participation in professional learning and mentorship of a student group.
• Commitment to contributing 1.5 sessions per week to Activities and/or Service each season.
• Willingness to engage in the five key elements of UWCSEA education, including Outdoor Education experiences.
• Strong commitment to diversity, inclusion, and adapting pedagogy to meet learner needs.
